How many of you remember the Kodak advertisement:
"You Press the Button
We Do the Rest"
with a drawing of a hand with a camera in it, with one finger resting
on the Button?
-yoram
I've seen the image.
I remember the photographer posted the film in or handed it in at the lab
and went back to taking pictures and then stopped by to pick up prints and
negatives afterwards ;)
Another digital/film method not mentioned is using the Polaroid Photomax
printer and Polaroid Spectra film -
http://www.juggle.com/polaroid-polaroid-photomax-web-color-printer I've
definately enjoyed using these, especially for heavily manipulated images..
viewers generally do a double take when they see an obviously altered image
on polaroid :)
Of course those of us who got stuck into doing our own darkroom processing
and printing and learned a whole lot more about photography and how to take
a good neg and turn it into a great print.
On the digital printer side of things I still am yet to see any printer
output that gets close to a good glossy black and white print.
Colour-wise, RA4 Pegasus output is my favourite (but then we're not totally
in control) the Ilford polyester based 'paper' printed with a dye printer is
a very fine alternative to ilfoflex/ilfochrome/cibachrome but they must be
archived a lot more carefully than the RA4/Ciba prints to preserve the
colours. Pigments still do not impress me..
