Any particulates in the air can increase your odds of getting lung cancer (I vaguely remember reading of a study several years ago which found that Tibetan monks have a slight increase in lung cancer due to the incense they burn). Any airborne corrosive material can increase your odds of getting cancer. Walking your dog can increase your odds of getting hit by a car.

There is risk to everything. The probability of getting cancer from  this smoke, given the amount and frequency that most people would probably use it, is greater than zero, but it is probably pretty small. If you want to use it, consider wearing a mask, which should filter out any particles and absorb most or all of any corrosive chemicals.

At least that is my opinion.
