Subject: Brief takes on present PF member's photographs

PF member's photos on view at: http://people.rit.edu/andpph/gallery.html:

               Pini Vollach -
Not sure what this is other than a plant but it is certainly very attractive and well photographed IMO. Tried looking at it sideways but all that did is give me a headache and not improve the composition.

Gregory david Stempel - Smith Tower, Seattle No. 1
A very "different" rendition of the Smith Tower indeed. Looks overpowered by the nearby ominous skyscrapers! - cloudy skies add to the atmosphere.

Jim Snarski - Eld Inlet Sunrise
Hmmm ... another Seattle photograph! but in contrast to the Smith Tower this one is filled with light, peace and tranquility. A bear or two seem to be enjoying the sunrise on the floating dock. I know that is not them but at first glance ...

Lea Murphy - Edyn's first birthday
Already has that inquisitive look of a young child. What are you doing she asks? Very nice.

               John Palcewski - Lumberjacks
Great color - situation is interesting - placement of figures and dozer is great as well as the muted tone of the background. Makes for an effective story telling image with impact.

Marilyn Dalrymple - Whats So Interesting Out There?
Sometimes what one can't see is more interesting than what one can - in this case maybe the reverse is true - the hanging tail tells of interesting things outside but they are only hinted at by the questioning tail!

              Andrew Davidhazy - Attention getter

It is what it is - hard to pass by without noticing it. Gunther's photographs are here: http://people.rit.edu/gxcpph/industrial-blues/index.html

TX,

Andy
