It's sad that most of the people that will not put up with that kind of nonsense usually have far more to offer than a big mouth an a big ego.  Those that are really good at what they do most often feel no need to prove it to others.  They know it from the depths of their soul. 

Rare is it that you meet someone that really is at the tops of their profession that is a total jerk.  It happens but its rare.  The bigger the mouth, the more insecure.

Yes, some enjoy flame wars like the one Jan Faul managed to provoke with regularlity, but I'm sure he drove from the list a lot of people who would otherwise have stayed.
