I just recently read a
short piece on this technology. It says, in part.........The German-made Raytrix
R11 is the first mass-produced plenoptic camera available in the
U.S..................Such flexibility comes at a cost. The R11's final image
resolution is only three megapixels, and video runs at six frames per
second--pretty shabby given the camera's $30,000 price
tag.
Maybe if we all bought
two, the price would come down and the resolution would go up.

Subject: Light Field photography?
So what do you all know about light field
photography? My first exposure to it was a link on the Canon G12
group. Wall Street Journal had an article about this and Stanford has
been researching it. There is now a company, Lytro, promising a
pocketable camera utilizing the technology. I will add the appropriate
links:

If true this
could really be revolutionary it
seems.
