I've noticed this as well. In addition to the absence of looting
reports, is footage of citizens immediately working to rebuild, and an
absence of blame being cast. CNN must be at a loss for how to cover this
story with such a well composed population. Perhaps it gives them more
time to write headline copy like: "US warships headed for Japan"

In most major cities food doesn't need to be in short supply to start
a looting binge. In many places all that's needed is for the power to
go out.
