The physical damage is massive, but the human toll is incalculable.  Yet the one thing that has impressed me through all of this, and maybe others here have noticed it too, but its not what is happening but what isn't.  With all the supply issues of the basic necessities of life such as food and water, I haven't heard of a single report of looting.

In most major cities food doesn't need to be in short supply to start a looting binge.  In many places all that's needed is for the power to go out.
