I'm honored to be part of the first gallery of 2011. It's been a while but I have been following the goings on and making lots of new work. I'll post more in the coming weeks.

The PhotoForum members' gallery/exhibit space was updated JAN 01, 2011. Authors with work now on display at: http://people.rit.edu/andpph/gallery.html include:

Christopher Strevens - The door and the teapot

A beautifully captured but sad moment of the season. We all have seen this happen to people we love, it is never an easy thing to accept. Thank you for sharing such a personal event.

Rob Miracle - A Kentucky Winter Wonderland

I love the result of your work compositing this image. Even better, is the terrific photograph it became. Congratulations on getting snow to look like snow. There is also a nice contrast in the shape of the two fence lines. I like the placement of the left house and the horses.

Pau Maynes - Madonna and Child with Saint Jean

Welcome to the Photoforum Gallery! I love the connection of the baby and mother. The pose is so classic yet so modern in this version. The older child, with the look of loss of his former unique place in the family, is a nice element in the image. Although you probably couldn't avoid the tree coming out of his head behind him, shallower depth-of-field would have helped lessen the effect.

Thomas B. Barker - Hundreds of Mushrooms

The point of view makes this photograph special. You get the feel of these mushrooms going on forever. The overall tone of the image is very nice.

John Palcewski - No Pain, No Gain

People tell me they enjoy running. This guy does not look like he is having any fun although, we don't know about the unseen dog (?). Well captured!

Rene M Hales - Trees in the trulli forest

Panning the camera takes what is probably a nice landscape and makes it into a very good abstract. I like the result very much.

         Emily Ferguson - Christmas lights

I suppose this is one way to make an ordinary image of Christmas lights into something interesting. I think I would have liked it better with the porch lights, TV and upstairs interior light, whatever that is, off.

Don Roberts - Trunk and Leaves

As soon as I saw the thumbnail I thought Japanese. You have captured that feel quite well. The contrast in shape of the foreground tree and the fence is terrific.

Yoram Gelman - Garage Shadows II

A beautiful abstract composition here, Yoram. I like the tonality as well as the sofness of the shadows. I am curious if this was a long exposure or soft light, or both, that gave you this effect?
