Marco, I think you were the victim of a
misunderstanding. I read your message and understood what you
were saying. I saw no commercial intent and find nothing amiss
with your posting. Just my view, of course, but I think you were
within the bounds of propriety for this list. Perhaps others see
it differently but I feel they did not take the time and effort to
comprehend what you said. Now, back to photography, I thought the
images from the mine, although video and not stills, were
fascinating and compelling in the story arc. Any more comments? Don On 10/15/10 9:18 PM, Marco Milazzo wrote: I'm the offending party, but I meant no harm. A half-dozen messages about the Chilean miners preceded mine. I was simply pointing out that in the future we can expect to see their story exploited for profit -- and I illustrated that point by quoting a commercial site using the miners' story to sell computer parts. I have no relationship with the site or products they sell -- I'm just saying "Here's how a dramatic, human story becomes distorted and commercialized." I included a link to the site in question but they change the site every day to sell different products, so it became a misleading redirect the day after I posted the message. |
