I've lived overseas for nearly ten years now and my credit cards are
routinely shut down on me for the simple reason that I use them.
Sometimes I have telephone conversations with these people that "are
not authorized" (able) to actually tell me why other than there is
"intelligence" that my "account has been compromised". Once, it
actually was...but they actually told me about it. Someone had made a
counterfeit card with my number and tapped my debit account at an
electronics store in the UAE. This was not a problem and my money was
insured. Another time, someone had obtained my number through another
purchase while I was in Bali, but the credit card company worked with
me and all was good. Maybe, just maybe, if someone manages to lift your digits with a cell phone, you should owe them their yield...I can't not respect a thief who is good at their craft. Bob wrote:
