It is not a perfect solution especially if you re going to an Amazon rain forest. The design could be done so you could unfold it and stick the base into your backpack as you walk around in the sun. Perhaps you would need a couple of spare batteries too so you could charge multiple batteries  when it sunny  and have extra batteries for other times. There is a dye that transforms sunlight directly into electricity and the group/company developing it conceives it as in a roll of bubble form that farmer etc could just run out over sheds and barns. This seem like the lightest way to go for  a backpacker recharger as weight is always an issue in  camera equipment being backpacked.

A foldup solar panel and charging logic might work 'on location' if you're shooting during the day .   If you're backpacking how would it work when you camp for the evening?
