I "won" through an auction (for $400) a Fuji IS and it too is pretty good recorder of near infrared wavelengths. Not a thermal camera though! Although I had heard that FLIR was about to sell a thermal model for about $5,000 ... still steep. OTOH, I managed to get a research grade FLIR camera into my lab ... from a donation (not from FLIR). So now we can cover thermal infrared principles and make some "hot" photogrpahs! ;) andy Jeff Genung wrote:
If you are looking for a reasonably priced IR camera, look for the Fuji IS Pro, but look quick because Fuji just discontinued it a week or two ago, and they are selling fast. --- Finally makes a cool camera, and then cancels it. I think Fuji is dropping all the DSLR stuff and just going to be selling point and shoots. http://www.dpreview.com/news/0707/07071304fujifilmispro.asp
