Epson makes a digital wallet, the P-2000 and its relatives, with a CF
card port and a viewer.
You might search for a wallet that burns DVDs as well. I haven't had
to look for one, so can't make a recommendation.
I must say, if I were travelling with another person I would give
some serious thought to just what sort of company I was going to be
if I wished to pursue a shooting regimen like the one you describe.
Personally, the only time I can fill more than 5 gigs is when I'm
shooting a regatta. For me, landscape photography operates at a much
more considered pace.
