nice to hear that :)

> You see I know what its like to face the possibility of not seeing in either eye, have a patch over it an wonder if its going to work when they pull it off, and the joy of a sunset after it has in the past. That has given me an appreciation for both photography and sight in general. I now stop and look where in the past I might have walked right by.

I know what it's like to loose something, and how precious the smallest return can be. And I count myself lucky often, for the things I am able to take for granted.

> Now I understand about the glasses. Has your bride tried contact lenses? They often help a great deal. My bride has to use them ans sees so much better with them. I assume she has been seen by an eye specialist, and not just someone that fits glasses to make sure the eye is healthy.

She has contacts yes thanks - but glasses seem to work better for her even with all the drawbacks.

Here you cant get specs without having an opthamologist do an exam. By government standards, she's legally blind :/

Mind you, I know from time to time my eyes fade from strain and it takes a moment to relax them.. and I have been trying to get her to go through the old Batest method of eyesight restoration after the verdict re surgery. In one instance in a darkenned room she failed to recognise a 5 foot high "H" 10 feet away, but after a *long* time trying to overcome her natural tension, I managed to encourage her to relax enough that should could read a numberplate 30 feet away (!)

So there's at least SOME merit in the process!

Afterall, Aldous Huxley was declared legally blind in his teenage years.. And seeing Bates personally, he was able to recover his eyesight :)
