Having more cores won't help you one bit if the software you are using doesn't support multiple cores.
Ask your software company if it does. Then if the answer is yes, next would be how many cores? If the answer is two, then get a dual-core. If the answer is unlimited, then get a quad-core or even a dual quad-core (like the high-end Macs use)

We are occasionally making large photos for billboard printing. Our current computer is an old Pentium 4. Any advice on what dual-core or quad-core computer is best for this purpose? I head quad-core consumes 500 watts. Elson
