Jim, thanks for your quick reply. I have an Epson 4870 flatbed scanner. Old, but not too old. I was thinking I needed a dedicated film scanner. But, I will go back and rethink that one. Will run some tests with the 4870 and see how close I can get to what I need. Some models are V200, V350, V500, V700 and V4490. Check the web pages of distributers. Of the various models, some will do a single strip of a few negatives, others a full sheet of up to 8x10 in. Select a model depending on your needs. I believe Canon also have flatbed scanners which will do transparencies, check the web pages for both companies. There may be other companies, but personally I prefer to stick to these. As far as I am concerned, I have and use an old Canon FS4000US unit. If I had to replace it or my flatbed unit (Epson Perfection 1200S) which is nearly 10 years old), I would probably go for the Epson V700 model.
