My first trip was back in 1985.  Lived in the area for a while in the early 90s. My last trip was in 2004.  I likely will not go back for a number of reasons.  Health for flying has gone with my youth.  At one time the flyin used to be an EAA event, but that changed when the money got large enough and the founders started retiring.  It became a for profit event.  

The car is the way to go for the electronics.  I always caution those using an inverter to make sure its big enough, but you have used it before and that shouldn't be an issue.

Weight is a big deal when you have that much to walk around with all day.  Your best bet might be extra cards.  Simple and light weight, but then again its still a limit in how much you can take in a day.  If you can find a battery operated image storage system, Id be interested to know what you got and how it worked out for you.
