Time for some additions to my questions.
I ran PS 7 on a PC
My workflow creates tiffs that are given away and they still contain image capture details.
The only way I have found is: (on a flattened image0 "select all - copy - new - paste- save as" which I did one at a time. Strangely I did not tried making a action fo it, I do not know why.
Still a purpose oriented app for Tiffs would be mor ehelpful.

If you΄re on a Mac, Graphic Converter ( http://www.lemkesoft.com/ ) can do this, and lots of other things as well.
