> ok, biting the bullet and showing my immense ignorance. Well, it is, after all, an immense subject. > If someone says to submit a photo that is 640x480, what size is the photo? Think of the 640x480 more as a resolution than an image size. At that resolution you are fine for viewing on a monitor but you will have to print it very small (2"x1.5") to make it look a clear as it does on the screen. However, if you use a projector connected to your computer then as long as you use a good projector it should look just as good on the projector screen as it does on the monitor. >Can it be two different sizes and still be 640x480, say a 9x12 or 16x20? You should rephrase that thusly 'Can it be printed at two different sizes and still be 640x480, say a 9x12 or 16x20?' Then the answer is yes. In fact it can be printed at any size your printer can handle. I think your real question is 'If I hold the print in my hands will it look as good printed at 16x20 as it does on my monitor and the answer to that is no. If you hang the print on a wall and walk far enough away from it, it will eventually look like it did on the monitor. Its like when you're standing in a crop circle all you see is broken wheat. Its not until your Venusian pilot gets the craft off the ground that you clearly see the shape of the inter-galactic photon torpedo target you've just created. Greg
