I found that I can'y get it going under XP but being a pack rat first and a retired computer tech second I was able resurrect an older machine and load W2K on to it. Vuescan needs some Canon files to work. Sorry, had a few projects on this weekend and couldn't get to this till now <http://www.canon.com.au/support/customer/default.asp?DXI=KnowledgeBase/Customer/KBArticleForm&File=KB00191&productID=fs2710> Canoscan FS2710 and Windows XP : Setting up a Canoscan FS2710 Film Scanner under Windows XP Unlike earlier versions of Windows, Windows 2000 and XP do not include "ASPI Support" required by legacy design SCSI devices. For additional information, please visit the Microsoft Knowledge Base and view article number Q300674 Or click here for a direct link to the article. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;Q300674 Solution 1. This product can be used with Windows 2000/XP by downloading the WINASPI software from the Adaptec Website. To Install the Adaptec SCSI ASPI layer WIN32 software version 4.70. Visit http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/support/suppdetail.html?prodkey=ASPI-4.70 Once ASPI has finished downloading, run it and restart the PC. 2. Then install the Scancraft FS software from http://www.canon.com.au/products/scanners/scanners_low_medium_volume/canoscanfs2710_drivers.html Install version 3.6.4 of the Scancraft FS software. Note: As this is a SCSI device, you will need to ensure that the Scanner is switched on before the PC, each time you boot up and intend to use the scanner. Ensure that you are logged in to the system as Administrator whilst installing I'd suggest once this is installed grab Vuescan for actual scanning regards Karl
