many people are experimenting with 20-stops of data "smooshed" into the normal 256 layers -- the result of which is often bizarre and surreal.
 
The current chair of the local photo club has used the HDR in Photoshop CS2 to create a picture that has heavy black emphasized detail which some  people can't stand. I think if he just prints the picture four times wider the detail will look normal and quite sharp.
