Terry, I have used Epson's up to 2200 model. The Epson 2400 and 3800 are fantastic. If you plan to do a lot of printing the 3800 is your best choice. Epson has been the favorite for rag and silverprint like papers but now HP is catching up. Got fed up with Epson's stingy, expensive ink and resistance to after-market ink vendors and didn't need 3800 size. I'm now using HP 9180 and find it perfect for my needs. There are some new rag matte and air-dried silver print looking papers available for it now.
