You cut up pumpkins after extracting the soft bits inside (do you eat the seeds?) and make lanterns for the New World festival involving “trick or treat” which goes down as vandalism here. Is that right?

Trick or treat started out as something to look forward to for little kids--going around, house to house asking for goodies (treat) and theoretically "tricking" if nothing was given.  Tricking used to involve simple things such as throwing toilet paper into trees--now folks do that themselves as decoration in trees (when the leaves have fallen off by Halloween) to give it a spooky effect.  Or someone used to use a bar of soap and write on windows of a car, as a 'trick'.  As with any good or fun thing, it will get ruined by the brats in 'our' world (age has nothing to do with being a brat).  Then of course the powers that be elect to cancel it.  Used to be kids could go door to door mostly by themselves--not anymore thanks to molesters, and folks that put razor blades and poison in the apples and candies.  Now if the kids are lucky, parties are held at schools, or goodies are handed out at shopping malls.  Happy Halloween :)  Linda
