The School of Photographic Arts & Sciences at the Rochester (New York) Institute
of Technology is proud to organize and sponsor the exhibition, IMAGES from
SCIENCE, scheduled for fall of 2008. The organizers are soliciting images
specifically created for the purpose of recording of scientific and engineering
endeavors such as oceanography, geology, biology, engineering, medicine,
physics, or other related disciplines.
IMAGES from SCIENCE is planned to be a showcase of photographs made in the
pursuit of scientific information. We would appreciate you sharing this
announcement with others to accomplish our goal of developing this unique
international exhibition.
Acceptance into this juried show will based on the photograph's impact, the
image's aesthetics, the degree of difficulty in the making of the photograph as
well as other related criteria. Persons submitting images must certify that they
own the copyright to the image(s). Judging, will take place in Rochester, March
2008. There is no entry fee charged.
To be considered for this exhibition sample digital files must be submitted for
the judging process. A maximum of 4 images per author may be submitted for
judging. JPEG files with a resolution of about 640 x 480 pixels, medium
compression with file size per image less than 100 kb, should be emailed as
attachments to: RITphoto@xxxxxxx by February 28, 2008. Make sure to include the
word IMAGES in the subject line of the message to which the images are attached.
Along with the e-mail submission, for each image, please include:
* photographer and/or organization's name
* title of the photograph
* subject photographed
* any relevant data about the experiment
* imaging equipment used
International Judges are being identified to help select the final images that
will be a part of the exhibition and catalogue. IMAGES from SCIENCE will be on
display in early fall of 2008 for a period of three weeks after which it may travel.
Images from Science 2002 was hosted by 23 organizations in 7 different countries
mostly recently in the Czech Republic. You can still review what the previous

By submitting images for consideration participants must give RIT the right to
reproduce their copyrighted image(s) in the exhibition and in exhibition related
materials or publications, including printed catalogues and a web gallery.

organization of the exhibition process continues.
