I generally agree with Guy's rant and so here is my
take on this weeks entries. I hope my honesty doesn't offend
anyone.
Overall this week's offerings are
weak.
Marilyn's image lacks focus. No starting point in
this busy image. What am I supposed to see? Also, there doesn't appear
to be much consideration for compostion. Exposure was done well. Had you
elliminated most of the plant and focused on one or two of the larger frawns
with the backlight, you could have given more focus to your
audience.
Pini's image is a classic look - with good exposure
- at abstract imaging. Reminiscent of photography in the past.
Unfortunately, the image is crooked. All of the lines in this image are either
straight horizontals or verticals and in my humble opinion, the compostiion
should have reflected that theme. It dominates the image and it seems to have
been missed by the photographer.
Guy's image has a great theme and awesome exposure
values. But the whole thing is slanted to the left. There is an odd combination
of a crooked background with a not-so-crooked foreground. Exposure in the sky
was done well but you come close to losing the statues. It takes a few seconds
to decipher what is going on.
