: Hi Karl,
:
: I was wondering if you might be able to help me with my printer problem.
I was
: working on my computer and had my Canon i850 printer turned on when my
power
: went out in my house. When the power came back on my computer was fine,
but my
: printer will not turn on any more. I tried different electrical outlets
in
: other parts of the house, but no juice! The printer just won't turn on at
all.
: Up till this happened, it was working beautifully. Is there a part I can
: replace myself to make it work again?

Hi Shyrell - I'd say (at a guess) the power supply was fried and recommend
droping it into the nearest service centre where you may find they would
replace the power supply free of charge as there must have been a fault
with it (and they're often good about repairing such faults even out of
warranty). If they don't want to be nice and do it for free, unfortunately
you'll find replacing it would be cheaper than the repair price they'd ask.
Replacing it yourself is not really an option unless you can lay your hands
on an i450 - i850 model with some other fault and then you and I will have
to do a bit of email priter repairing ;)

sorry I can't offer any great quick fix beyond this

karl
