RE: It isn't easy being Green............................

Delurking….I. personally, haven’t used the CD or the green screen yet, however down in Orlando in the PMA convention, they had a class where the teacher said that he used Owen’s Originals and does nothing but green screen for his photography.   As for me and my business partner, after spending 2 hot, long Sundays outside for a youth baseball shoot (we weren’t taking the photos, just assisting another local photography business), we are strongly thinking about doing green screen photography for our upcoming youth sports events.  Having looked at the pictures from those 2 days, the idea of having constant lighting for our subjects, as well as background, along with a highly controlled environment (ie – AC) is a big plus.  It means that there is a lot more to carry around, supply wise, but it is so worth it in the long run!

Anyways…when the time comes, I think we will be using Owen’s Originals to get the greenscreens and supplies…though we will probably use the a picture of the teams baseball field to drop in instead one of the cd’s, though there are some that are great.

They are offering the choice of either

blue or green screens with a selection of CD's

that have various backgrounds you can drop

your subject onto.............

That is what I was wondering if anyone has used........

Nope, I have not used the package you speak of.. But I have used blue and green screens and chroma key for video.

Do you have a URL for this product?

Are you shooting video or stills?

If you're going to shoot an image that needs to be dropped into another background, make the shooting background as close as you can to the final image.

A green screen is for video where the chroma is selected and electronically made to dissappear. the green screen must be evenly and well illuminated. The subject must contain nothing that is similar in colour to the green screen and then the new background must be quite bright to burn through the edges.

As I say, if you know that you'll be dropping the subject into to a white background, shoot on a white background and make a layer mask.
