About the quality of LuLu printing i can say that it is rather good. A friend of mine has made several variations of the same photographs to test layouts and they came very reasonably printed, better than some offset book i've seen here in Portugal.
 
I Think Lulu uses Xerox igens to do the printing, but i'm not sure.

Right. That was one of the points. Simple. Agree it will not be offset quality.
It is supposed to be an "experience" ... no more, no less. However it goes.
