Well you probably already know the PF gallery is here http://www.rit.edu/~andpph/gallery.html. Jeff Spirer (Boots) - Right away I notice the lack of shadows where the leather meets the pavement and the relative sharpness of the boots compared to the steps makes this look to me like a composite image. Why no shadow on the boots when the debris seems to have shadows? Why would Jeff do this? Maybe because he feels like it. OK. Well the legs are spread quite widely in the image trying to force my eyes to move in opposite directions at once. I can't pick one boot over the other. I'm torn between two leathers. Ha! Get it? Oh man, I crack me up. Anyway, I don't like it. The whole thing bothers me. The competing boots, the lack of shadows, the lines of the steps and debris on the steps, its all freakin' me out man. Of course perhaps that was the artist's intention. Rich Mason (Peaceful Storm) - Wow, exact opposite. While there's an oppressive, dangerous power in the darkness the gently curved strip of light draws me in to safety although I'm concerned I won't get there quickly enough. I like the hint of magenta in clouds too. Actually Jeff's shot and Rich's shot both have a powerful effect on me and to me that's the only reason for art. Museki Abe (Autumn Color 4) - Like the other images in the 'Autumn Color' series, this shot confuses me with its beautiful, gentle leaves and natural forms on the one hand and the sloped lines of the building. It would work far better for me if the building were far more out of focus. Emily L. Ferguson (Abby in the morning sunshine) - You should move the copyright notice to the left of the image. Someone stealing this could crop out the copyright without really messing up the image. Lea Murphy (my little mimic) - Nice light. The shirt is white but not blown out however you need to teach Rachel to hold the meter so you don't get a reflection off the display. Do you have a light on the backdrop or is it just spill? It looks just light enough to set the shadow side of her hair off from the backdrop. D.L. Shipman (Black and White Parrot with Yellow Eye) - The title sort of speaks the obvious but I love the yellow eye amongst the grey plumage but only because of the green background. Its just enough green to work the yellow properly. Very nice. Thanks Andy staff for your continued diligence and thank you esteemed image suppliers.
