Joseph,
Perhaps you should compare film results on a Canon body to the Nikon
film results, and the Canon digital results to Nikon digital results.
Apples to apples and all that.
You said nothing of your post-processing, which is where you are likely
to find the difference. My first results with Canon digital were a bit
disappointing too, because I didn't know what I was doing yet.
