Elson,
Keep in mind, the longer your focal length, the
shallower your depth of field (AKA; depth of focus). So a 24mm at f/4 has
more depth of field than a 300 at f/4. Also,
manipulate your depth with your camera position. Remember the old
trick, changing focal lengths and camera position allows for shallower or
greater depth of field.
