Funny me... instead of being inspired to review when there are few reviews, now I feel tempted after a record number of reviews and opinions...

The PhotoForum members' gallery/exhibit space was updated AUG 27 2005. Authors with work now on display at http://www.rit.edu/~andpph/ gallery.html include:

Lea Murphy - Lauren Murphy off to college
An excellent portrait, very relaxed and natural looking, as well as technically competent.

Emily L. Ferguson - Yesterday we went fishing
Yum, yum, I love fish (on my plate, that is). Well arranged, well lit. If underexposed, I cannot see it; the tonality of the fish looks exactly right, and that makes the boat details fall where they do (around Zone VI for the followers of St. Ansel). Except by elaborate lighting, there´s no way to make the boat brighter without losing detail in the fish (at the time of exposure, that is; Photoshop could do it).

               Qkano - Caz
I´ve got grandchildren; I feel at home with this one. No terror (as someone suggested), just surprise.

Renate Volz - After the Rain
Very beautiful, nice abstraction. If there are bugs, I can´t see them, and I don´t care. This is not a documentary. Do visit Renate ´s site!

               Sue Butler -
Lots of action, a bit grayish (B/W conversion is an art). Lighting doesn´t help either.

               Dan Cardish -
Entering the bee´s nest now, it seems... It is BEAUTIFUL! Lovely light, lovely model. The pose looks quite natural and un-self- conscious to my none too innocent eyes; anyone with good knees might squat like that to look at something. The fecally oriented associations seem quite far-fetched (as members with more personal expertise have claimed in more detail). Forget it!

               Per Ofverbeck - Gingko Leaves
Thanks for the kind comments! This one is growing in our garden (a small one, about 4 years old now), just shot from above, with open soil below. I think I did remove a few twigs with the clone brush, but I´m not sure (and too lazy to dig the original out).

               Judy Curiel - Passion Flower
Beautiful flowers, usually shot smack-on. This one is from another angle; nice. Personally, I would desaturate the two small green stems at left; they draw my eye away.

               Elson T. Elizaga - Newlyweds
Funny shot. And that´s about it.

               Tim Holmes - Global Flyer
Looks like a toy with nothing to show the scale of it. Must have been exciting to see it, but otherwise just a record shot.

Bob Sull - Who called this meeting?
Well, this kind of shot just HAS to be sharp, unless there is a very special kind of artistic intent. These flowers are bee magnets, however: just keep on shooting! I owned the same lens; it is quite up to the task.

               Steve Shapiro - Leica B
What we call a rim-set Compur Leica over here, with a black VIDOM beside it. Never seen one in the flesh, obviously; didn´t know there were only two left... Like the previous image, I would have said it HAD to be sharp (after all, they´re LEICAS!). Only, in this case I feel the artistic intent is there; the image has a dream-like quality that i like a lot.
