Well, try to look at the Scientologists' method for helping people. They will probably try to sell you a book. Their books are worth reading, Hubbard's philosophy differs from psychiatry in that his thesis that aberrant behaviour is caused by faulty data and the brain, the computer in the head, is working perfectly. This means that the use of physical treatments, we all know the pain these cause, is wrong. Not only is it wrong it is criminal. Psychosurgery, widely practised as a cure is just another form of execution as the patient ceases to be a clever normal person, but a mentally defective, temperamental and a person who has no predictive or powers of reason. In some cases they can only move if tugged gently by the hand and cannot speak. Often when speech returns it is just reflexive without understanding. The pills just cause dullness of mind or cessation of higher mental activities. For example, if a blow is aimed at a luecotomised person, they take no evasive action. The first sign of the return of intelligent behaviour is when this predictive power returns. The victim of psychiatric treatment often returns to life not knowing who they are and with no knowledge of the world. Some lose good jobs, their wives, their homes and spend their lives in hostels in badly paid jobs or on the street. For many their only crime was to commit heresy or blasphemy or say something appearing to support socialism or worse, communism. The political offences can more easily be dealt with by reason and pointing out the obvious failure of socialist communities. Examples from experience are the best teacher. The religious offences cannot be dealt with by reason as there is none in religion or non-religion but pointing out the power of the religious authorities will persuade a dissenter to comply because of the consequences for not doing so. Examples of other executions for blasphemy or heresy will often persuade such offenders to comply. The reasons for honesty and clean living can be used to teach criminals to be law abiding, but basically "My ancestor was a head hunter" is the trait present in all of us and these instincts, such as collections of souvenirs of encounters, are not an illness, I just don't want to end up in one. We all have to learn to live in a civilised way and usually it is only necessary to tutor the offender rather than poison or maim him. Chris. Question: What happens to me when I die? Response: What happens to a cat when it dies? Answer: You throw it away. Response and answer: You are a clever cat! :> -----Original Message----- :> From: owner-photoforum@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:owner- :> photoforum@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Marilyn :> Sent: 26 August 2005 19:54 :> To: List for Photo/Imaging Educators - Professionals - Students :> Subject: Re: Asking for help - again :> :> Quotation from Chirs: "Try a detailed report on the local mad house :> complete with photos and testimonials before and after the treatment and :> a :> clear account of the :> interviews, the procedures carried out, with photos. :> Get it all published and talk to the Scientologists about closing the :> institution and treating these unfortunate victims of happenstance with :> the :> alternative procedures worked out Hubbard." :> > :> Hi Chris: :> :> The local galleries *are* our local mad houses {:-> (I am a member of :> several of these gallery's memberships - does that tell you anything :> about :> me?)
