Here's the place http://www.rit.edu/~andpph/gallery.html.

And here's the views (well mine at least) -

Pini Vollach (Greece) - I generally like Pini's shots and I like this one too. Nice contrast between the flowing, abstract images in the water and the clearly defined ropes. The reflection of the ropes bothers me though. The curves all bend downward drawing me away from the boats. Personally I would crop it just below the bottom rope. You lose a lot of the building reflection and the sky but those rope reflections really bother me.

Bob Talbot (Memories) - This seems a more personal shot than anything else. I think you mentioned, Bob, that you shot this quite some time ago and the first thing I thought when I looked at it was 'wow, even back then he was obsessed with getting the horizon (furniture) perfectly level.' Then I realized that could have been done this week in Photoshop. This shot is quite similar to some of Chris' shots. Not the 'naked slaves in the woods' series but the 'family memories series'.

Jeff Spirer (Kalmex and the Riff Merchants) - This one does not speak to me at all. None of the usual Spirer dramatic lighting or intriguing subject. The composition doesn't work either and the image is soft.

Jim Snarski (The Bather) - Cute.

Howard Leigh (Vienna, February 2002) - Pretty colors.

Author (submitted by Jason Hancock) - Great lighting and there's no clues as to scale which I like. This could be 40 feet tall or a child's toy. Great composition too. My eyes gently and easily fall upon the eyes and when I browse around the edges, then fall back on the eyes which, by the way are the only closed shapes in the image. Lovely.

Jim Davis (Unreal Fog) - Like the scene and the fog but the image looks like it was scanned with an eBay purchased Pacific Image PrimeFilm 1800u scanner.

Marilyn Dalrymple (Desert Silhouette) - My first thought of this image was 'how un-Marilyn' but then its not really because the backlighting makes the subject very shadow-like and who can forget those fan shadow images? I like the action in the shot and also the way the clouds form a 'V' as do the tree branches and the beaks of the ravens.

Thank you to our gallery staff for ceaselessly toiling under Andy's whip.
