I'm not sure I would believe every thing I read on the web, I think CRTs are going to be around for some time, just way to many people using them and liking them, I personally use a LaCie and like it, I think the best thing to do is look for what fits your needs for a price that fits your budget.

Indeed, CRT is on the way out but they are still available and at good prices. I've read on the web that within 5 years, if not sooner, CRTs won't exist at all. Hopefully in that time the LCDs will be brought up to speed with the needs of photographers at prices that are reasonable.

Manufacturers seem to be phasing out the CRT monitors.
