I am leaning towards the Nikon.
It is suppose to have a very rapid write speed.

All the dSLRs have buffers. I don't know how big it is on the D70, I have been using a 10D. I can shoot seven RAW shots at maximum speed before the camera pauses. Unless you're doing professional sports shooting, photojournalism, or you like to fill up the card as quickly as possible, write speed in most dSLRs is totally irrelevant. Even doing professional sports shooting, which I have done with the 10D, write time isn't the limiting factor.
