Outrage aside, I'd pay it and move on. Unless this bride is very
powerful in town the episode is not likely to become a problem, and
if she is it makes no difference, since she'll smear you no matter
whether she won or lost.
Bullies are nearly impossible to manage, best to depart from their presence.
