If I could butt in here, I use Spybot and it's one of the best antispyware apps. It consistently catches spyware that others can miss.
I also (shamefacedly admit) use Microsoft Antispyware, AdAware, and Spy Sweeper. M$ Antispyware, AdAware, and Spybot are free. I'm a little crazy about the spyware that I used to see, so I run these at least once a week. I would recommend that you get Spybot at a minimum and also try the M$ product, which is still in beta.
