well i do have experience with them burning music and data on the gold and silver ones...these were shipped to many users that reported noproblems the last few years, and by the way, cd burning has always been 100%, and i now buy bulk from the greek importer at a ridiculous price...about 40% of the us price?
but there are some claims that quality dropped since MAME was instituted. olders ones were smooth at the edges.both have endured LOTS of alcohol on the writing surface

Mitsui (now MAM-E) is one of the 2 biggest manufacturers and subcontractor for who knows how many labels (compare the 1st and next 3 digits at the number under the barcode). Other options for you are the Proffesional brand Tayo-Yunden (a Plextor subcontractor0. i would buy that for archiving, and don't overlook SKC...strong stuff

as much as i could help, kostas
