Re: film/holder inquiry

I found that in repairing film holders, the best thing is that which works. I use Elmer's glue. They make a cream color glue they call wood glue as well as the white.

Be sure to test the holders by putting a piece of print paper, leave the holders in the sun, and develop. That way you can see where the leaks are, and if there are no leaks, you might be allowing light to lead when you pull the dark slide to make your exposure.

Some of us forget, bigger than 4X5 and the light leaks into the film holder, so we keep the dark cloth over the back at all times until the exposure is complete and the dark slide replaced.

Subject: film/holder inquiry

situation: I bought an arca swiss 5x7 view camera and
five 13cm x 18cm film holders to accomodate the
availability of TMAX 100 13x18 film. The film
measures exactly 5"x7"...anyone know why? are they
that close? I've heard 5x7 film can go into a 13x18
holder, but not the other way around.

also, in repairing light leaks, of which they are bad,
i'm replacing the felt at the slide mouth...any glue
considerations i need to keep in mind?
