Hello Shyrell: Thanks for your kind comments. I agree, if I was presenting them as photojournalism I would show them without effects. Different markets, different ways of presentation. I'm just trying to be respectful of their privacy which is why I looked for ways to hide their identity in some of the works. Although I gave the name of their village in my description I'm not sure I could ever do that in a larger publication I don't want tourists in RV's showing up. That they include me, invite me for holiday dinners since I have no family here means so much to me. In marketing these I feel I will be walking a fine line but I hope never to betray their trust. ALL uses will be approved prior to usage. I do agree with the others about the paint effects. While they are wonderful for gallery work, i.e. Artistic Galleries, not so much so for photojournalism. I have been reading with interest all your posts as to your reasons for the effects, but if you could convince "Grandma" that her history would be better served and preserved with sharp photographs, the work would lend itself to more possibilities. One would be news stories for the arts and leisure/community sections. Another could be a possible book publication with all the stories included. I am always looking for factual items myself and that includes other cultures. My particular interest is the Native (American) Indian culture, history/background. You are doing a wonderful work. Stay with it and thanks for sharing! Shyrell Melara
