Some thoughts on this weeks contributions: Peeter Vissak: Postmodernist prayer One of my favourites this week: I like the graphic quality of the shot as well as the concentration on just black-white-blue tones. I wonder what this "postmodernist posture" is about though. Teashop by Qkano/Bob Talbot: the human figures look like toys - almost a surrealist painting (I guess, Magritte would be happy) The background is just perfect. Jim Davis: Little Egret Reflection, Good shot, but the structure in the background is distracting C J R Strevens: Escalator. Interesting geometry, but the humans and plants are just a distraction. Srinivasa R. Regeti: Bradley stop Jumping !!! Well, obviously, you couldn't stop him. Interesting how the main subject is blurred, while the "unimportant" background is tack sharp. Leslie Spurlock: Stranded Number 2 Surely a good documentary photo, but from an "artistic" point of view, it's too crowded for my taste. Emily L. Ferguson: lobster boat bow I'm not quite sure what this photo is about. There are a lot of details in the background that I would prefer to be blurred, the blue thingumy in the lower right corner is distracting and the "W" above it is too dark. Timothy A. Holmes: Rushmore - Shrine to Democracy again I find that this picture capture too many thinss at once: lots of sky, the monument, the flags, the trees. WRGill: Low Tide Nice, but I'd like to see more of the reflection. My own picture: "In Motion". When I took this picture, I tried to capture the motion rather than the dancer, so I didn't use a flash. Here is a version where I combined a relatively long exposure time with a flash: http://www.travelphoto.net/a-photo-a-day/wordpress/2004/11/20/dancer-ii/ Please feel free to comment on both versions. Laurenz PS: I'm very busy scanning pictures from Peru at the moment.
