"Better" just isn't a precise enough word -- the important qualities of a camera can't be represented along a single axis. But, given that I know *nothing* of your situation, what you're used to, what you want to take photos of, or anything else -- the D70 is more comparable to the Digital Rebel in Canon's line; the 10D would be the higher-level camera.
