Greetings Fellow PhotoForum-ers,

It's that time of the year once again: the World Pinhole Photography Day is coming next sunday, April 25, the last sunday of the April! Details can be found in 11 languages - including Srpski - at
http://www.pinholeday.org/

This year, there are lots of activities/workshops being organized in various places around the world - including a pinhole photography truck / "lab on wheels" driving around Lyon, France - and there may be something happening in your city or closeby.

Note that Pinhole Day starts on April 25 at 00:00 Hr. and ends at 24:00 Hr. local time whereas the period to Upload the image starts at 00:00 Hr. GMT and ends May 31st at 24:00Hr.

Remember that anyone can participate and that if you have a shoebox or if you don't feel ready to convert a hotel room into a pinhole camera, you can always fit the bodycap of your digital camera with a pinhole and get a digital pinhole photograph.

Best regards,

Guy Glorieux

P.S. I take the liberty of forwarding a Copy of Tom Miller's email to the Pinhole discussion list:

Dear Fellow Pinholers,

It is now less than one week until the 2004 celebration of Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day. We've received a lot of questions from folks interested in participating. There are well over seventy events listed on the WPPD events listing, including a documentary film in Australia, a "bootiful footographs" workshop in the UK, an event at Archie McPhee's in the US, a workshop in Andorra and a pinhole photography exhibit in Bangladesh.

If you'd like to join other pinholers on Pinhole Day, and there is not an event near you: create one! All that is needed is a time and place for people to meet. Then, you can talk, share ideas and maybe wander through an interesting area making pinhole photographs. Create an event listing on the 'Add Event' page http://www.pinholeday.org/events/addevent.php, choosing the event type 'forum.'

Each forum, workshop and classroom event listed on the WPPD events page is given a Group ID. This is usually in the form <name:city>, such as 'Nelson/Miller:Minneapolis' for the workshop that Eric Nelson and I taught. When the group's participants submit their images to the WPPD gallery, they should indicate which group they are a part of. When viewing images in the WPPD online gallery, the group ID can be selected, creating a virtual exhibit of the group's photographs. TEACHERS: this is a fun way for your class to have an online photography exhibit!

However you celebrate it, have wonderful Pinhole Day on April 25! The entire WPPD coordinating team is looking forward to seeing your photographs in the 2004 gallery.

Tom Miller
(for the WPPD 2004 Coordinating Team)
