Bob, after studying the image more, I may have to agree somewhat. I think a lower viewpoint with a larger flag in the foreground might improve the shot. I liked the site though and the flag was there; I wasn't about to remove it. Maybe I just tried to do too much with this photo. That said, I still like it.

It's two subjects splitting the image in two.

The flag and the tombstone.
I don't know which is the subject but they don't seem to live well
together.
If it was about the flag: it's too small in the frame.
If it's about the tombstone, the flag is a distraction.



Political: we won't go there.
The flag does carry a lot of baggage with it that may well affect my
appreciation of it.  But FWIW I wouldn't like the image any more if it
was a Union Jack!
