Is anyone using this body who can speak to shutter lag issues. Is it fast or slow? I'm interested in this body because I'd like a digital point and shoot and I like the hotshoe where I can use my 420ex but don't want to get in to a mess with missing shots due to lag.

To address the shutter lag issue specifically, it's mostly an autofocus lag and if you pre-focus using the halfway press on the shutter button, it's not too bad. It won't be as good as your 10D even with the pre-focus, but it won't be terrible.
