Any comments would be appreciated, and may wind up as a quote in my >rebuttal paper. I'm going to reword some thoughts I read that made sense. It's simply this: if you can produce photos of 18 inches on the long side that look good at a viewing distance of 3 feet, you've got all you need to produce photo 'art'. After all, it's really all about image. Closeup loupe viewing is for nerds with mere mechanical ability not art. You see many photo exhibitions have started asking for photos to be no larger than this. It seems some larger prints have had to have been redone smaller. I can make such a 18" by 12" photo even by cropping to 50 percent of my 6 megapixel image on the 10D, so yes, digital is here now. As a matter of fact, the quality I'm getting now never ceases to amaze me. Frontier prints are awesome at larger sizes. I don't want to get into details about scanning here, but let's just say it's sure easy now to get my images ready to print. And I'm an old school guy who spend many years in darkrooms making custom prints to mural size.
