Re: digital cameras

Ditto the elph...a friend just bought one and loves it.

A fairly big step up would be the Canon G5...lots of pixels, great size
and wonderful features...not the least of which is a hot shoe which
would allow for the addition of the Canon 420ex flash (an amazing piece
of equipment). One day I'll add the G5 to my camera bag...for now I
suffer thru with my 10D :o)

I think the best recommendation you can give is that your friend
consider pixels first...personally, I wouldn't go with anything lower
than a 4 million mega pixel camera. Once that is determined, it narrows
the field of what cameras to consider then your friend can really start
comparing body styles.

ALSO...shutter lag is a HUGE issue (the ONE thing keeping the G5 out of
my camera bag). One really needs to have hands-on time with the camera
to see just how quickly the shutter releases after being pressed. Lots
and lots of shots are missed due to lag.

Those are my 2 biggest concerns when looking at digital...

Happy shopping
Lea
