Got for the Nikon 55, you'll enjoy it more and it is a more modern camera, with autofocus and has a wider range of lenses you can later choose from than the Vivitar.

I intend to pursue serious photography in wild life/outdoor etc. should I invest in long lenses for the vivitar the difference in the cost of 2 cameras or purchase Nikon.
