I have a 400 f5.6Vivitar lens I bought about 40 years ago, cheap. has served me well. I have been informed to buy inexpensive long lens and spend big bucks on wide angle. Anyone have any thought on this idea?
Get on eBay and buy the best of each you can afford. Really, the flaws that make a cheap lens cheap are just as obvious in one focal length as they are in another.
